Farmingdale-based Telephonics has agreed to pay $4.25 million to the United States government to settle claims that the firm overbilled for certain military contracts a decade ago. The United States Department of Justice said the excessive charges were  to provide vehicle-mounted counter-improvised explosive device systems known as Warlock Systems to the Army and radar or LAMPS systems to the Navy.
